Hello, networld! I have recently inherited two Basic Time UPS units in unknown condition. I would appreciate any an all info available about these. The model number on both is XT-300 (from which I assume a 300 watt UPS). One unit has two fuses in the rear (4.0 and 3.5 amps); the other has only one (3.5 amps, blown). The "working" unit appears to power up, but the battery indicator light does not come on, even after 24+ hours of charging. Anything plugged in to one of the four outlets on the back panel stops operating when the unit is unplugged. At first blush, the battery appears not to be charging (but I'm hardly an expert here). Specifically, I would like to know: (1) Has anyone had experience with these beasts? Personal accounts welcome. (2) Can I replace the battery (if that's the problem) and restore these to their former glory? (3) Are they even worth messing with, or should I consider them objects d'art? (4) Whatever else you feel might be relevant. As always, ADVTHANKSANCE, and I will be happy to summarize for the net if there is sufficient interest. E-mail or posts fine. -bruce stewart -- --- Bruce L.
