WRITE(6) 2 blocks to 012be8 failed on the second block because of: 03 - unrecoverable media error 10 00 - ID CRC OR ECC ERROR Any decent OS should have been able to recover from such an error, and it looks like 2.3.2 did just that. Just in case, I would suggest calling their customer service and asking them how their OS handles badspots on a disk.
