Hi out there! Does anyone know of a handheld scanner that A) runs on its own batteries B) plugs into an existing machine port (ie serial or parallel) Our interest is due to the overwhelming number of laptops held by our academics, who take them to all manner of strange and wonderful places -most of which dont have/never heard of 240v power supplies. These researchers would love to able to scan small quantities of graphics/text onto storage, but at present there does not appear to be any means to do so. I would be grateful for any information.
