I am confused by the umpteen QIC-x identification numbers, where x is apparently any natural number... Could somebody please explain to me what each value of x refers to (a kind of tape, a kind of cartridge, a kind of drive, a kind of controller, a kind of format for some of the above, a kind of interface/protocol standard for some pair of the above, etc), and possibly what kind of QIC-x thingies are supposed to be able to do what kind of actions to/with what other kind of QIC-y thingies? Posting the info here would be fine, or, if you'd rather, email it to me (I will post a summary if asked). Thanks! -- Alex Martelli - CAD.LAB s.p.a., v.
