We're planning to set up a classroom for teaching computer skills to Bar Admission students and lawyers (the skills required for using a computer effectively in a legal practice, that is). The room will have 15-25 PCs networked to a central UNIX system, so that both MS-DOS programs and UNIX programs can be used by all. An instructor will need to be able to wander around the room and look at any student's screen to see what's happening. Question: does anyone have rules of thumb as to the amount of space we need? We're looking at several possible rooms within Osgoode Hall in Toronto, and it's not obvious to us what numbers of workstations we'll be limited to if we go with a room that's of any given size. The workstations will, I presume, be set up in rows; I'm concerned about the space between tables as well as the space between users on one table. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. If there's interest, I'll summarize responses. David Sherman The Law Society of Upper Canada +1 416 947 3466 -- { seismo!mnetor cbosgd!utgpu watmath decvax!utcsri ihnp4!utzoo } !lsuc!dave
