Requirements:  Ph.D. in Cognitive, Experimental, or Human Factors Psychology
	Required experience in:
		Experimental Design and Statistical Analysis
		Human-Computer Interaction Research with specialization in:
			User/Task/Performance Modeling techniques, and/or,
			Human Performance related to visual processing subsystem, and/or,
			Learning, Training or Help Systems
		Usability Testing
		Interface Design and Development

	(Doctoral program experience counts; June grads and post docs
     welcome)
	
	Desired experience in:
		Knowledge acquisition/ engineering methodology
		Familiarity with connectionist network & production system models
		Familiarity with either UNIX, C, Lisp, or Hypertalk a plus

The applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and
must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Vitro Corporation has an IR&D dept. with a research program in Man-
Machine Interface Development.  We have a Human-Computer Interaction
Laboratory in which to conduct a wide range of usability and HCI
studies.  Our facilities include Macintoshes, Sun Sparc Workstations,
a Motorola UNIX computer system, IBMs, and a Butterfly machine.  We
also have a variety of input/output devices (3D Spaceball, Touchscreens,
Private-Eye, LC Displays, Flat panels, etc.). We also have a variety of
video cameras and software tools for use in the HCI Lab.

This position would be involved in the IR&D program in the development
and evaluation of advanced interface technologies.
Our group includes an AI Lab (computer scientists, mathematicians),
a Signal Processing Lab (physists, mathematicians), and a Microprocessor
Lab (programmers,graphics programmers, fiber optics engineers).
