I was wondering if anyone has seen this problem before...
I have a Hayes 2400 baud SmartModem that was purchased new this last
summer. Occasionally, during kermit or xmodem transfers, it will hang
up and go into a state where the MR light flashes continually at about
a 1 Hz rate. The manual mutters something about this being an indication
the modem is in self test mode but doesn't elaborate on it. Is there
some magic sequence of received or transmitted characters that will cause
it to drop into self test mode? Is this another case of "Hayes Heatstroke"?
