[comp.dcom.modems] LEEmah modems

For Derek Andrew.

My mail program will not accept your address, thus am posting this.

Annoying features:
1. Having to enter codes into the LEEmah before a call back is given, and
then having to enter a special character once the call back is recieved,
before getting the computer tone, has been a problem. We have had to
research how to program/accomplish this with several brands of modems/
software. There have been one or two "weird" types that we have been
unable to get to work. Because of this, there has been a reluctance on
the part of the user community to accept, but those that have used it
    successfully have accepted it.

2. In order to keep a copy of the audit trail, there must be a printer hooked
into the LEEMah. While the audit trail can be kept in the L.'s memory, you
get only one look at it, then it's gone. Cannot even print it out from memory.

3. Data bases kept in memory cannot be printed out, without some cludging.

4. Data base entries cannot be modified. Required delete and re-entry.

5. The FIND function sometimes acts flaky.

6. The interface protocol between L. and requried terminal is not the best.
(It is x-off, x-off instead of x-on,x-off.)

7. Documentation is lacking in some areas. It is useable, but not the best.
(i.e. talbles of peeks/pokes would have been very helpful.)

8. A real interface between the L. and a mainfraim would have been very
helpful.
