AS usual, someone (including me) asks
>>Can anyone recommend a good 2400 baud modem?
BYTE had a seemingly thorough review that recommended the ATT and
MULTITECH modems.

It topped the ratings in some magazine run off about 6-12 months ago. Get the location of an AT&T phone center store or independent retailer on 1-800-222-3111. If you have trouble getting help with this send me unix mail. Ray Kellogg ihnp4!ocsmb!rvk

If anyone wants source info on AT&T 4124 or other modems, send me
unix mail at ihnp4!ocsmb!rvk. I use a pool of AT&T 2224's, a higher
priced "industrial" strength version of the consumer products division
4124, and have found them just like the old 212A's; that is they work
without glitches and seem indestructible.

They told me to call 1-800-247-7000, the business end of the business. THEY said that there is no such thing as a 4124; that it must be an old Bell Telephone model number.
