    if the source you're referring to is the WKERMIT implementation,
it relies on the greenleaf comm library, and is very PC-specific.
    there's a windowing C-Kermit available on Sandy Zelkowitz's XBBS
at (714)828-0288.  i compiled it with no modifications on both a
4.3BSD Vax and a Pyramid 90x, and it works fine with my procomm 2.4.2.
    i made changes to _reduce_ the window size; the default 31
packets/window were causing my multiplexor to get indigestion.  it
turns out that _3_ packets per window, a la uucp, is enough for 25%
thruput improvement at 1200bps, and 100%(!) at 9600.
