I have two USR HST 9600 modems and have been using them regularly to upload/download software from several Remote CP/M systems using the XMODEM (1k blocks) protocol. The thoughput is very good and I've experienced no errors. The modems also work very well at 1200 and 2400 bps, with or without MNP. The interactive terminal sessions are ok, too, even though the reverse channel is 300 bps (most people can't type faster than that). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the HST for any application where the bulk of the data comes from one end at a time. It automaticaly reverses, giving the 9600 bps channel to the end with the most data to send. The swapping is transparent to the user. If you can borrow one for a test, call my RCP/M for a first-hand look. --Keith Petersen Arpa: W8SDZ@SIMTEL20.ARPA Uucp: {bellcore,decwrl,harvard,lll-crg,ucbvax,uw-beaver}!simtel20.arpa!w8sdz GEnie: W8SDZ RCP/M Royal Oak: 313-759-6569 - 300, 1200, 2400 (V.22bis) or 9600 (USR HST)
