I just picked up a ven-tel md212 plus modem (circa 1982). Unfortunately, I cannot find any documentation on the thing. I'm using it with the PROCOMM terminal emulation package on a PC-clone. My problem... The modem is not properly configured for umodem binary data transfers. It works for 7 data-bit transfers (even parity I believe), but I can't figure out how to run 8 data bits, no parity. I would imagine that there is some combo of dip switch settings that determine parity, but I have not been able to stumble onto it. The modem has two banks of dip switches (labeled F and H) with 10 switches per bank. Anyone out there have any information they can share with me on these modems? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please respond via e-mail, as I do not normally follow this group. --Ron Koestler AT&T Bell Labs ihnp4!ihesa!koestler
