I need to use a Paradyne FDX 2400/ARK 24K (same thing) as a bi-directional modem. First I need to get dialing to work, right? The dialers I have do not work reliably; they seem to put the modem into strange modes in which it is autistic. If anyone has worked out a dialer for these modems, please send me a copy of the dialer.c code. On the other hand, as dial-in modems these solve a problem. The modem (in Paradyne mode) handles the baud rate switching and the host port can be left at 2400. The modem has been very reliable in this service for about 1 1/2 years. They are MUCH better made than the 2400 cheapies now available (I have one such, an InComm 2400 which required power supply surgery before it would work for more than 15 minutes at a time).
