[comp.dcom.modems] Prometheus 2400

Hi folks,
Has anyone else gotten a Prometheus modem recently? I received
a ProModem 2400G in August and was having some problems getting it
to work with a PC. So I got out the trusty breakout box and looked
at the control signals. It seems that DSR (pin 6) was not true when the
modem was turned on. What's more, DCD (pin 8) was true. After playing
around with it for a while, I called the factory and got a return
authorization. Well, it just came back today and guess what? It
still does not assert DSR when the modem is turned on.
In fact it seems that DCD is always on when the modem is, and DSR comes
on when carrier is detected. That is exactly reverse of what I would
expect!
Has anyone else seen this? Did I just get a strange unit or is it
really designed to reverse the function of DCD/DSR?
The factory paperwork says they did an EPROM upgrade, and it now seems
to work, but I'm pretty sure this is wrong.
