Does anyone know of software for an IBM PC that allows the PC (w/ modem) to transmit a text file to a FAX machine? My supervisor said he had seen an ad for a product that did this, but he now cannot find the ad. Any replies please E-mail me at : ihnp4!killer!jockc Thx in advance... jockc

The device that allows PC to FAX transfers (or at least one of them) is advertised in the September Issue of TPT (Telecommunications Products + Technology) Magazine. There is an ad by Ricoh for their model 2100. It appears, however, that the transmission must be from the PC to a 2100, not just any "Group 3" fax machine. This particular implementation evidently requires only software plus a serial card. There are other devices which will plug into the PC and communicate with group 3 faxen, but these are a separate card. The number given in the ad to call for info about the Ricoh product is 1-800-524-0864 (201-882-8811 in NJ).
