It seems that uucp and/or my Multitech 224E modems are having a bit of a problem establishing a uucp connection that requires a baud speed change. I thought at first the problem might have been with the dialup site but, at least 3 computers we call that start up at 1200 baud and break to 2400 have the same problem. When running uucico in -x9 mode, it looks like the break gets thru and the remote login prompt appears. uucico accepts that and sends the login name. Then when expecting the password, it looks like the other end's baud rate changed. I have discovered no sequence that will allow uucp to login. Running "tip" and ~# to change the baud when logging in works just fine which is why I expect a uucp quirk. This happened with both SunOs 3.2 and VAX BSD4.2. The MNP of the 224 is turned off so error correction is not the problem. Any one else seen any weirdness such as this? Thanks in advance. ---------------- Kim Kempf, Microware Systems Corporation ...!sun!mcrware!kim
