[munch.........................] I would like to use vi to edit files with very long lines. (apprx. 4K chars.) Has anyone modified vi to be able to do this? Michael Wu (mmw%uicsl%uiuc.arpa)

I just recently modified vi (vers 3.6) to handle lines that are up to
1K long; it took about 20 minutes. Changing it for 4K should be just
as easy, as long as you have large process sizes (or are editting
small files).
