Oh, so if a cost is "absorbed" (whatever _that_ means) by the vendor, then
the cost is zero? Boy, am I glad _you_ don't balance _my_ checkbook!

I wanted to say that as for modem rom upgrades, I had very good luck with U.S. Robotics. There policy was: 1. Call them toll free, and ask for upgrade. 2. They send roms. 3. You return the OLD roms 14 days after NEW one's arrive (cost is ZERO, they include pre-paid mailer.) 4. If you keep OLD roms, then you are billed the cost of The NEW roms. I went from 4.0 --> 4.1 --> 4.2 --> 4.3 roms.
