I need some information on access to telex service via a dialup modem from either an IBM PC or an Apple Macintosh. I was wondering if anybody out there has any experience with services of this nature. I am interested in hearing about: - The telex system served. (I think there is more than one, but I am not sure.) - Protocols and baud rates supported. - Availability. - Cost. The system must be such that it stores telexes for later retrieval when someone dials up the service. (That is, the modem cannot stay attached continuously.) Please reply to me via mail and I will summarize to the net. Sincerely, Zalman Stern Internet: zs01+@andrew.cmu.edu Usenet: I'm soooo confused... You might look at MCI MAIL or at AT&T MAIL. Both of these provide access to TELEX as well as a lot of other e-mail services. Both will hold inbound TELEX messages in your mailbox until you log in and read them. Both offer PC-based software that automates your message editing and preparation, as well as dial-up and login procedures. AT&T MAIL is also accessible via UUCP if you are equipped with a UNIX system. -- Dave Levenson Westmark, Inc. The Man in the Mooney Warren, NJ USA {rutgers | clyde | mtune | ihnp4}!westmark!dave
