I've been using S6=7 to get a seven second timeout on a secondary dial tone (the W command): ATDT9501088Wxxx The problem with this has been that there was ALWAYS a seven second delay before the first number (9) is dialed ( you get to listen to seven seconds of dial tone ). I just discovered by accident that a preliminary W eliminates the initial seven second delay: ATDTW9501088Wxxx The telebit starts dialing as soon as it detects dial tone. Maybe everyone but me understood this but I've never seen it used before. For what its worth ... Ed Clarke uunet!bywater!acheron!clarke
