[comp.dcom.modems] obvious opinion on What Needs to be

I don't agree.  There aren't too many modems on the market that are
worth more than a couple extra hours of my time.  If I can plug in
the modem, have it run correctly the first time, and depend on it
working reliably, that's worth a few extra dollars.
