This is an interesting thought - people who make power strips for equipment racks might take notice of this. It's something I had never thought of, but would probably solve a great deal of problems, and, like you said, wouldn't be all that hard to do. <The other alternative is for the power module to have a short AC cord. <I have several modems using this type and can make full use of <conventional outlets. One can duplicate this by buying a short <extension cord to use between the module and the strip. The problem <with this is that it adds more wires to an already messy situation. Actually, another alternative for a situation where there are lots of modems is to replace them with a rack of modems. I've seen a rack unit for VenTel modems, and also for USR Courier 9600s - when you want to add more modems, you just slide more cards in - power is all taken care of with one plug! However, I guess many people have different kinds of modems that aren't easily written off and replaced - also, I'm not sure if the Telebits are rack- mountable or not. But, if acceptable, this is a much nicer way to do things... ----- Steve Lemke ------------------- "MS-DOS (OS/2, etc.) - just say no!" ----- Internet: steve@ivucsb.UUCP; lemke@apple.COM AppleLink: LEMKE ----- uucp: pyramid!comdesign!ivucsb!steve CompuServe: 73627,570 ----- alt.uucp: {decwrl!}sun!apple!lemke GEnie: S.Lemke ----- Quote: "What'd I go to college for?"
