We are looking into setting up international e-mail links between Australia, England and USA for internal mail and I would appreciate the net's views on the following questions: 1) How well do the current crop of high-speed dial-up modems work over international voice circuits? In particular, can they cope with satellite hops? 2) For anyone currently doing something similar, what protocol are you using and what sort of typical throughputs are you seeing? 3) I am aware that the Trailblazer+ supports uucp-g protocol internally, what other support for commonly used protocols (Kermit, UUCP, Zmodem) exists? I apologize if this has been covered here recently (and I have read the discussion relating to dial-up lines into/out of London). Please reply by e-mail, I will summarise if warranted. -- Peter Jeremy (VK2PJ) peter@stca77.stc.oz Alcatel-STC Australia ...!munnari!stca77.stc.oz!peter 41 Mandible St peter%stca77.stc.oz@uunet.UU.NET ALEXANDRIA NSW 2015
