[comp.dcom.modems] Telebit modems for interactive use

terry@eecea.eece.ksu.edu (Terry Hull) (11/22/88)

We are considering purchasing some high speed (> 2400 buad) modems
which will be used in a variety of applications, but the main use will
be for interactive service. Some of the modems will be used
with multiplexors, some without. A secondary application will be
data transmission via kermit and uucp, but this will only account for
about 15% of the total usage of the modems. The price tag on the
T1000 Telebit is vary attractive so we are considering using it.
Would anyone out there recommend the T1000 or a Trailblazer+ in
this application? Can anybody tell me why this would be a stupid
thing to do? Is there a modem out there that would work better
for us with our application mix?

My second question is who has a favorite terminal multiplexor that you
would recommend to me? I need 4-8 lines per mux. Thanks in advance
for our response. Please E-mail me. I will summarize if their is
sufficient interest.
