SECOND POSTING - PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.

I've been asked to decide on and purchase 4-6 low cost / high
reliability (Impossible Goal) 2400 baud modems for uucp network use. So
far I have read good things about Practical Peripherals 2400SA modems, and
Everex Evercom 24E modems.

I do know that the 24E has MNP error correction and can be gotten for
less than $200.00. Does the 2400SA offer MNP? I have a local dealer who has
offered me the 2400SA for $179.00. Does anyone have any information on these
modems? Are the prices reasonable? Could I do better, and where?

Would you recommend any other low cost 2400 baud modems? Please
E-mail me, or post as soon as possible, I need to make a decision soon.

				Thanks a lot.
				    Steve.

The 2400SA has been a workhorse for me... It's very compatible with
the Hayes 2400 -- without the sync stuff (which is rarely used).

It has no switches -- everything is in Non-volatile EAROM. It also
has no completely dumb mode.
