On a related issue, I think that the post office should deliver my in-city mail for half price. I also think it's only reasonable that they come to my home and pick up my outgoing mail twice each day. I have some new ideas for re-structuring their package rates and will post a survey about it later. If we don't get results we'll have to fire someone! #define sarcasm off WAKE UP! This is not a moral issue. They have the right to offer any service they wish at any price they wish. YOU have the right to use the service or not as you see fit. The new scheme is almost certainly intended to increase profits. (I hear the crowd yelling "GREED!") Greed you say? I have another word for it. Some of you may be familiar with an economic system called "Capitalism"...

I realize arguing against analogies is troublesome, but I think the following rebuttals of mine show how some people feel I've talked to: >On a related issue, I think that the post office should deliver my in-city >mail for half price. Was it so long ago that you've forgotten you had to pay extra for air-mail? I'd say that mail delivery, while it has ups and downs, has gotten better over time. More service for more money, not less for more. >I have some new ideas for re-structuring their package rates and will post >a survey about it later. If we don't get results we'll have to fire someone! And there are plenty of competitors who charge a lot less. PCP has virtually no competition right now. >This is not a moral issue. They have the right to offer any service they >wish at any price they wish. YOU have the right to use the service or not >as you see fit. Agreed, and many will choose not to use it. If enough, then Telenet will realize it made a mistake! -- Andrew Burt ncar!isis!aburt "Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time."
