Help! On the assumption, fool that I am, that *most* 'dumb' multi-port serial cards should work with Microport System V/AT, I upgraded my Quadram Quadport/AT motherboard with the daughterboard. This should give me up to six serial ports on my machine including the one on my AST Premium Expansion board. I hooked everthing up and set the jumpers properly, ( when I boot DOS and install the Quadram Quadport.sys , I get six serial ports. ), I used ttypatch to fix up the kernel with the interrupt, the port addresses and tried to shoehorn in the status port addresses. Low and behold, I can assert DTR on modems attached to the appropriate port but I cannot pass any data. Has anyone installed this Multiport Board on System V/AT 2.3 or 2.4? If so would you E-mail me your ttypatch lines so I can try them here. If the included tty driver in 2.3 or 2.4 does not support this board, does anyone have a driver for the kernel that I could try? My last resort is to return the daughter card and buy another multiport board. I would ask for some guidance on this purchase. I believe that I can only justify a 'dumb' board and probably only need one anyway, War stories and such I would try and summarize and repost. Any comments are appreciated. If you wish I can call you by phone if you E-mail you phone numbers.. Thanks in advance.
