I just bought from PC People in Arizona an Anchor Automation 2400 External modem for $119. It is Anchor's Patriot version which is marketed thru mail-order houses and only comes with a 2 year warranty compared with the 5 year for the ones marketed thru Egghead or other retail outlets and notable mail order places. For those who can live without MNP error correction this modem is about as cheap you buy for a NAME BRAND modem. I have seen thru Mid-West Connection ( I guess that's their name) modems from folks I nenver heard of. But, Anchor has a good reputation. Anyway, if you want a good CHEAP 2400external modem I can say this Anchor 2400 external fits the bill. Though, I guess in the long run you pay for what you get. But, if you need 2400 baud it is a good bet.
