Rather obviously, almost twice that of the USR! Wait a sec- you can get a T1000 modem for $795 list. Not twice the USR. There's a good reason why the TB+ is more expensive than the USR. It does a lot more! The USR can't hold a candle to the TB+ on precompressed data, on low quality phone lines, on protocol support, on upgradeability (even if the TB can't be PROM-upgraded to V.32, many other things *have* been added over time w/ PROM upgrades!), on connectability to a variety of hosts, etc etc etc. The USR is sufficient for many peoples' needs. The TB+ is the only thing that will do the job in many other situations, however! -- Peter Holzmann, Octopus Enterprises |(if you're a techie Christian & are 19611 La Mar Ct., Cupertino, CA 95014 |interested in helping w/ the Great UUCP: {hpda, pyramid}!octopus!pete |Commission, email dsa-contact@octopus) DSA office ans mach=408/996-7746;Work (SLP) voice=408/985-7400,FAX=408/985-0859
