Does anybody in netland.europe know if there is a site around Lille area of France where one can get modem access to either uucp or bitnet? There is a local university network in Lille area but they charge a lot of $ for cpu and storage for non-university people. If you have a site in Lille area and you are willing to offer an account to somebody who logs in remotely once in a while to send mail and receive mail (and nothing else) to America, please let me know. I have a friend who has a modem working and everything but she just cant find an account somewhere that wont charge a lot. Because there's virtually no competition between the European PTT's, datacom within Europe (and intercontinental for Europeans) is an expensive business.
