[comp.dcom.modems] Documentation on MNP/V42/V32 etc etc

mshiels@tmsoft.uucp (Michael A. Shiels) (06/11/89)

Does anyone have documentation on the "standards" for modems.

I am interested in any of the MNP or V32 or V42 specifications
or just plain descriptions of them for some clarification with
the technical department where I work.

chinn@osf.OSF.ORG (David Chinn) (06/12/89)

I just saw the june issue of Byte magazine
at a news stand. Skimming through it I came across
an article which described a lot of the technology
in reasonable detail. It didn't give any detailed
specifications, but it did give a good overview.

I didn't read the article, merely skimmed it...the
shop owner was a little sensitive to me reading and
not buying; I was out of money at the time :=).
