I've been having trouble with a dialup connection I've been trialing. I have an old Volker-Craig VC2100 terminal (dating from my grad school days) which acts a lot like a VT102. However, some of the delays (cursor movement, etc) seem to take a bit longer. No problem, says I, hacking the termcap, we'll get that fixed. But NO! I'm still losing characters (especially in vi, or when refreshing a screen); the cursor will not be placed in the right place and/or some characters on the line will not be present. The termcap LOOKS right, the modem is set to handle XON-XOFF...what have I missed? My uneasy feeling is that the modem is doing compression, and those nice time delays that UNIX puts in are being lost in transit. The system I'm using is: Sun 3/60 running SunOS 4.0.1 Microcom AX/2400c modem (2400bps) VC2100 terminal (VT102 clone) dialup port is a CISCO terminal adapter Anyone able to help?
