Hi. I was the one who posted the original article about the problem interconnecting the Telebit T2500 with the Microcom QX/V.32 after upgrading our Microcom EPROM's from Rev 1.1 to Rev 1.5. Someone sent me e-mail asking what all of our register settings were, and my mailbox was recently trashed before I could reply, so I am broadcasting my reply. Oh, in addition, as someone suggested, the problem is not because of RESULT codes being enabled on either modem. When I did the tests last week, I ran two cu(1)'s on two different terminals, such that each terminal was logically directly connected to each modem. In other words, there is no getty program running on either modem (which would have echoed the incomming RING result code, and cause the modem to hang up). Our Profile A is used for a UUCP connection to uunet, and our Profile B is used for cu(1) dial outs. Below is the session.log file that I captured using kermit(1), with # comments I added for those of you who don't have a manual handy: # we are in enhanced asynch mode atz2 # load Profile B into active Ram OK ats7? # just a quick check to be sure # (reg S7 is different for each profile) 241 OK atn? # display the S registers E1 F1 M1 Q0 T V1 W0 X1 Y0 &P0 &T4 Version GA1.00 S00=001 S01=000 S02=043 S03=013 S04=010 S05=008 S06=002 S07:241 S08=002 S09=006 S10=007 S11=070 S12=050 S18=000 S25=005 S38=000 S41=000 S45=000 S47=004 S48=000 S49=000 S50=000 S51=255 S52:004 S54=000 S55=000 S56=017 S57=019 S58=003 S59=000 S60=000 S61=150 S62=003 S63=001 S64=000 S65=000 S66=000 S67=000 S68=255 S69=000 S90=000 S91:001 S92=000 S93=008 S94=001 S95:002 S96=001 S100=000 S101=000 S102=000 S104=000 S105=001 S110=255 S111=255 S112=001 S121=000 S130=002 S131=002 S255:001 N0:8765055 N1: N2: N3: N4: N5: N6: N7: N8: N9: OK atz1 # load Profile B from EEPROM into active RAM OK ats7? # just a quick check to be sure 240 OK atn? # display active S registers E1 F1 M1 Q6 T V1 W0 X1 Y0 &P0 &T4 Version GA1.00 S00=001 S01=000 S02=043 S03=013 S04=010 S05=008 S06=002 S07:240 S08=002 S09=006 S10=007 S11=070 S12=050 S18=000 S25=005 S38=000 S41=000 S45=000 S47=004 S48=000 S49=000 S50:255 S51:004 S52:001 S54=000 S55=000 S56=017 S57=019 S58=003 S59=000 S60=000 S61=150 S62=003 S63=001 S64=000 S65=000 S66:001 S67=000 S68=255 S69=000 S90=000 S91=000 S92=000 S93=008 S94=001 S95=000 S96=001 S100=000 S101=000 S102=000 S104=000 S105=001 S110=255 S111:030 S112=001 S121=000 S130=002 S131:001 S255:001 N0:8765055 N1: N2: N3: N4: N5: N6: N7: N8: N9: OK --- Dennis Bednar uunet!virtech!dennis (703) 430-9247 Virtual Technologies Inc, P.O.
