[comp.dcom.modems] DEC DF03-AA modem, ANY HELP?

mdgoodma@CRDEC4.APGEA.ARMY.MIL (Mack Goodman) (09/06/89)

I am requesting once more information on this modem. I have called
DEC and they gave me the following:
1200 baud, autoanswer, autodial. I tried the modem and it works
fine provided that I dial manually and connect. Does anyone know
how to wake it up? I appreciate all comments, and I realize that
this modem is not "state of the art" by any means, but for
me ( and for the price) I wish to use it.
The company has voluntered to send me an operators manual for a
mere 40 dollars, which is more than I paid for the modem.
I had to decline their offer :).
Thanks in advance for your help.

(burp) My that was a yummy line...

From Article 1058 of comp.dcom.modems:

First you type ^B (control-b) to put the modem into command mode. Then
you can type in the number to dial and the modem should dial and connect
you. If you don't unplug it when you are done, the last number is stored
in its memory and can be redialed by typing ^C from command mode (or ^B^C).
