We just bought a pair of Practical Peripherals PM2400SA MNP/Level 5 modems. They work find it both modems are told AT\N1. When I try to use AT\N3 on either end, I have problems. If I use AT%C0, it works okay, but is very slow. If I use AT%C1, I get errors in the characters displayed on the screen. It fails most often when using a certain editor that generates a lot of escape sequences. My boss suggested it may work better for transferring files, but I have it in stream, not block, mode. Also, if the anwering modem is at AT\N3 and the originator is at AT\N1, it still seems to be very slow. Can anyone suggest what is going wrong, or anything I should try before we return these modems? Please reply directly to me, because I do not read this newsgroup. Thank you, -David- -- Bitnet: david@wubios.wustl ^ Mr. David J.
