[net.unix-wizards] System Quotas

kayuucee@cvl.UUCP (Kenneth W. Crist Jr.) (10/21/85)

I am in charge of implementing disk quotas on our system. This seems
to be a rather easy job, except for one thing. Could someone please tell me
the format for typing in quota limits when you use EDQUOTA? It is probably
very simple, but nothing we have on disk quotas says anything about this. If
someone could mail me a sample of what is supposed to be typed in, I would
greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

The answer is simple:
1) "cd <root directory of filesystem>"
2) "touch quotas"
3) "chown root quotas; chmod 0600 quotas"
4) "/etc/quotacheck <filesystem>"

It will now work.
