I can see it now: "...from the people that brought you the VCR macrovision stripper, we bring you the modem human vocal tract format faker." So how is ye olde Ma Bell supposed to figure out I'm using a modem instead of talking?... Do an FFT on my line and compare it to some typical print of the human vocal tract's spectra?.... Hmmm seems like an opportuninty to insert a filter between my Trailblazer and the phone line. Even knocking out quite a lot of bandwidth do appear human, the trailblazer should be able to send 600 to 600 char/sec. The PEP mode g protocol spoofing might even look a lile like syllables of speech .. assuming I talk like the guy in the Federal Express commercials. Sounds like a fun opportunity to engineer some stealth modems. Bill wtm@neoucom.edu
