[comp.dcom.modems] "Cheap" Source for Telebit T2500

adam@ncifcrf.gov (Adam W. Feigin) (01/03/90)

I'm looking to pick up a T2500 at a good price. Anyone know of where I
might be able to get one at a real good price ?? My local sales droid
quotes me $1055 + tax and shipping, but I imagine that I can do
better. If anyone knows where I can get a better price, please let me
know where I can get one and at what price.

Call 1-800-Telibit direct and ask for sales - tell them you want the
"Internet Discount". Something like $899 for a T2500 if COD - another
$25 for NET terms.

Sorry to post this to the group but my machine can't seem to find
your machine.
You can check out UUNet's offer. They sell Telebit modems for about
33% off if you meet some requirements. At the very worst subscribing
to UUNet will do the trick.
You can get the information/order files by ftp'ing uunet.uu.net
and getting telibit.offer and modem.prices. If you can't get to these
files e-mail me and I'll get them to you. Posting to this group
probably will not get to me since I read it seldomly.

I have always found that a company called Peripheral Devices
has always (twice) been the low bidder, even lower that UUNET,
when it comes to the T2500's.

Peripheral Devices can be reached at 708-894-9050 and UUNET
can be reached at 703-876-5050.

I failed to give you the prices that I received.

For Qty. of 6 T2500's Peripheral Devices offered
$952 each and UUNET offered $980 although I think
UUNET's price included shipping but they were still
higher than Peripheral Devices.
