[comp.dcom.modems] I need a Cheap Modem for C-64

MJM124@PSUVM.BITNET (01/11/90)

I need a cheap 1200 baud or better modem for my Commodore 64.
I have a 300 baud modem the Commodore 1660 that I will sell or
trade in addition to paying money for the 1200 baud modem. I
would prefer the Commodore 1670 modem since then I wouldn't have
a purchase extra cables to attach the modem to my computer.
Please leave a quote on how much you would sell me
the modem that you are offering for OR if you want
to purchase my 300 baud modem.
                                      email me Thanks, Mike

While we are on the subject...

I have a user that would like to use his C-64 as a remote terminal on
our SCO Xenix system...and I know -nothing- about C-64's.

Would someone suggest:

	1. A good Public Domain or shareware communcations program
for the C-64 that provides decent terminal emulation
(I need to use termcap for his applications)

	2. A new or used 1200 or 2400 bps modem for the C-64
Can I use a standard external modem with a special
cable or is a special type of modem/adaptor required?

Thanks in advance to all. Regards,
