[comp.dcom.modems] Request help w/ Telebit configuration problem.

in article <21@dynasys.UUCP>, jessea@dynasys.UUCP (Jesse W. Asher) says:

I don't have my doc's here but I think the S50 should be set to 255 to force
a PEP connect. The first time I connected to UUNET I connected at 2400 baud
and then I figered out how to force the dialer to make a PEP connect. It also
changed the wait time from 40 seconds to 60 seconds.

I have the same problem but I have found a workaround. I am using a SCO xenix
system, and can use the -h option of the dialer to clear the problem. I think
it has something to do with the hardware line (DCD, DTR, etc.). I have noticed
that this problem does not occur when using the PEP mode.

This may be due to the type of return code expected numeric or text.

You should try 9600 first, I have not been able to connect at 19200 yet. I
am sure that it is my system and not the modem.
