We have a modem interfaced to an internal network. Unfortunately the network does not timeout and hangup the phone if you don't exit nicely. As a result someone in our firm just made a long distance phone call that lasted for a week! Does anyone know of a (at least) 2400 bps modem that has the ability to timeout after a certain period of inactivity and hangup the phone line? Our other modems are connected to computers which provide the timeout but we can't get the network to provide the timeout so we are hoping to find a modem that can do it itself.
