[comp.dcom.modems] xenix-modem-answering

avb@tnoibbc.UUCP (Andre van Brussel) (04/10/90)

I've several problems with SCO Xenix.

When I connect the modem with kermit, everything is fine. The modem
auto-answers.
Wen I leave kermit and I enable the modem to the right tty, the modem
doesn't auto-answer. /etc/ttys says the modem is enabled, which matches
with de DTR which is on. What's the difference between connecting with
kermit and via enable ?
When I put another modem from Microcom to this tty, every works fine.
Both modems are from Microcom, and both modems have exactly the same
settings.

The second problem is the hangup string. In /etc/gettydefs I've put the
string HUPCL. But the modem doesn't hang up automatically. I've to do
it myself giving the string : +++ATH0.

When anyone does have the same problems or knows an answer, please mail.
