Hello Everyone,
I am new to this conference so please forgive me if I stick
my foot in my mouth at first. I read the messages about the ATI
2400etc modems with great interest. I have been using the
internal version for about 6 months now and it has performed
flawlessly except for 1 little bug that maybe someone can
enlighten me about.
I have the V.42 version of the chip and I noticed that when
I have V.42 enabled and I have option &O1 set, it will not accept
regular non-MNP connects. I have to place it in the non-buffering
mode for everything to work. This only happens when I have V.42
activated. If I use &Q5 (MNP5) then buffering works correctly
with non-MNP connects (incoming). The effect that is experienced
when the modem is set for V.42 is that as soon as the modem
decides that the other modem is non-MNP, it will drop the
connection. Anyone else experience this problem?
