I am looking for information regarding a Fastcomm FDX9696 modems. They are supposed to be full duplex (9600 bps), V.32 compliant, remote configurable, and fall-back speeds of 2400, 1200, and 300 bps. The intended application is for running X-terminals (NCD16s) over phone lines. These particular modems were reccommended by the manufacturer for this application because of their *fast* round-trip times between server and client. I have not been able to as yet talk to anyone who has any experiences with these modems or the manufacturer in general, so I really appreciate hearing from anybody that has. The Fastcomm modems appear to be fairly competitively priced to Telebit products for the same applica tion. The one exception is the T1500 from Telebit of which I also have sketchy information on, because it is a new product, so any clarification on the T1500s would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance, --Dan P.S. The manufacturer is Fastcomm Inc. or Fastcomm Communications Inc. in Reston, VA, (407) 620-3900 -------------------------------------------------------------- Dan FitzPatrick dkf@iec.ufl.edu 339 Larsen Hall, Integrated Electronics Center University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611 (904) 392-8935 -- Dan FitzPatrick dkf@iec.ufl.edu 339 Larsen Hall, Integrated Electronics Center University of Florida, Gainesville, FL 32611 (904) 392-8935
