A friend bought a pair of Model DE-1 9600 baud modems made by General datacomm for $25 each from Boeing Surplus. They exchange data between themselves over their private line, and we are hopeful that they are useable over the telephone line as well (there are two terminals in the rear of the units labeled `phone', as well as the two terminals labeled `switched network'. Could someone familiar with this equipment please slip me a hint or two as to how to use it over the telephone, if such a thing is possible?
