Hi, > drivax!braun@uunet.uu.net (Karl T. Braun (kral)) > We are trying to set up communications with someone in Germany. We have a > telebit T2500, they have a T1000. Of > course the echo delays are annoying, but they seem to get bounced off after 5 > minitues or so (NO CARRIER). We have no problem with local connections. > If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on this I would appreciate some mail on it I did an interactive software demo with *LOTS* of screen painting across the country. From Boston Mass to Fairbanks Alaska. When talking to people on the phone there is a huge satalite delay and voice echos every where. It sounds like their routing the phone conversation through the Alaskan pipe line. Any way the demo came off Great! I called telebit and they sent me some documentation. You should call them and ask for: 'International and Satelite Connection Considerations' Along with my usual setting I used the following: j6 Enable calibration tones s7=60 Carrier detect time to 60 seconds s10=14 Carrier loss time to 14 seconds s36=1 50 msec calibration tone s50=255 Connect in PEP mode s110=1 Enable data compression s111=30 Enable uucp protocol s120=12 Disable micro packets s121=1 Enable echo suppressor compensation Now this works best for interactive, for file transfer the settings will be different. The document has a description off the registers. Good Luck! -- Robert A. Gorman (Bob) bob@rsi.com Watertown MA US -- -- Relational Semantics, Inc. uunet!semantic!bob +1 617 926 0979 --
