I have only been monitoring this newsgroup for a week now so I am sorry if this has been hashed already. I am looking for MNP level 5 2400 baud modems in the $150 range. I have heard of the Bandit modem from Progressive Peripherals ($144 mail-order) from Dan Zerkle (6600dan@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu) who is very happy with his although he complained about the cheap black case and the external volume control. He also pointed out that a neat feature would be status lights indicating whether the modem was using its MNP circuits or not. I have also come across adds for the Everex 2400 baud MNP 5 modem ~$150. I have used Everex's 2400 baud modems before (not the MNP 5's) and have been happy with their reliability. I would be interested in comments from actual owners of these puppies. Can anyone provide more information to me about the different models out their? I'll be happy to summarize to the net if I get some good info. Thanks, gray gray@med.pitt.edu
