A few days ago I bought a modem Discovery 2400 C. After a while, I got very often the error message "COUNTRY ERROR". I could not find this error message in the documentation, so I changed the modem. The new one does not produce this error message (yet). There are several registers in the modem which are not documented. I assume that one of these holds a code for the country, but I am not sure. So could anyone send me a description of these undocumented registers? When I dial a number with the new modem, and when I let the modem choose the right code (tone dial or pulse-code dial), the modem first sends the tone for the first digit and then switches to pulse-code dialing. Pulse- code dialing is the correct choise here in Germany, but the modem does not send the first digit again using the pulse-code. So I don't get the right connection ... Can someone tell me, whether this behaviour is correct, whether I can change some parameters to get the right behaviour, or whether I should better change the modem again?
