The canonical place to get RFC's is from NIC.DDN.MIL (formerly SRI-NIC.ARPA). You login as anonymous, any password, "cd RFC:" and proceed to `get' away. The RFC's are kept at various other places around the network. I used to keep a big collection of them on the anonymous ftp archive at f.ms.uky.edu, assumably it's still there. I also know it's on uunet.uu.net. You can also access them via mail by doing To: service@nic.ddn.mil Subject: RFC nnnn Other Subject: lines are "help" (sends back a generic help doc), and "<area> INDEX" to retrieve the index for an <area>. One of which is the RFC area, so "RFC INDEX" will send back an index of the RFC's.
