[comp.dcom.modems] Summary of Telnet Scripting Languages

mitchell@mwunix.mitre.org (William Mitchell) (08/31/90)

Recently, I posted a request for information about telnet scripting
languages. I received 5 replies, and I have assembled them here in order
of arrival. Thanks to all who participated. This system really works!

Our products, MacUWS (universal workstation), and Linkware with BNS PC TCP
will do what you want. Call your local sales office for more info. We have
them in most states.

Have you checked out 'expect'? It was originally created as a solution
to telnet scripting (stelnet I believe). It's a pretty nifty package.
Uses tcl for scripts.

I believe both expect (the original) and tcl can be found in /pub on
durer.cme.nist.gov. I also have them in /pub on uunet.uu.net

You can run kermit over our interrupt 14 telnet (tnglass), part of
our PC/TCP package. This should provide you with the capability you
are looking for. Would you like me to send you product information?
